TOA PAYOH RIDGE
4RM BTO | Modern Contemporary
This project reworks the interior into a modern contemporary layout defined by openness and alignment with the owner’s routines. Existing walls were selectively removed to reduce compartmentalisation, creating a more fluid plan. Zones are defined through lighting, ceiling treatments, built-ins, and furniture rather than full-height partitions.
The layout prioritises clear movement and usability, with functions positioned around daily habits. Storage and joinery are integrated to maintain visual continuity while supporting practical needs.
Lighting is treated as a primary design element. Soft, indirect illumination—through cove lighting, recessed fixtures, and concealed strips—establishes a calm atmosphere while subtly defining space. Task lighting is applied where required.
A restrained material palette with subtle textures and contrast keeps the space cohesive and adaptable, supporting different uses without rigid definitions.
